New Jersey Democratic Senator, Cory Booker, on Tuesday morning he was still talking on the floor of the Senate, organizing a filibuster who began at 7 pm on Monday night, in what he called a protest against the national “crisis”, said President Donald Trump and Elon Musk had created.

Booker, who said he would keep the Senate floor open during the duration of his comments, said at the top of his speech that “rose[s] With the intention of interrupting the normal business “of the Chamber because he believes that the country is in” crisis “due to the shares of the White House since Trump began his second term.

“I get up tonight because I sincerely believe that our country is in crisis, and I think not in a partisan sense, because many of the people who have been arriving to my office with pain, for fear, having their lives overturned, so many of them identify themselves as Republicans,” Booker said.

“In just 71 days, the president of the United States has inflicted a lot of damage to the safety of Americans, financial stability, the central foundations of our democracy and even our aspirations as people for our higher offices, a sense of common decency. These are not normal times in the United States. And they should not be treated as such,” he said.

While Booker is holding the floor, the Senate will not be able to do other businesses unless he temporarily yields.
