A representative of the China Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the country has taken “completely reasonable and legal” measures to protect against the rates of the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
“There is no winner in the War of the Rate and the Trade War,” the Ministry spokesman, Lin Jian, to the journalists in Beijing on Wednesday. “China is not willing to fight, but you are never afraid to fight.”

Lin’s answer followed a question of a reporter about the most recent figures published on the White House website, which says that tariffs on Chinese products can be up to 245%.
In an information sheet published on Tuesday, the White House said that China faces such high duties “as a result of its retaliation actions.”
“China has repeatedly clarified its strict position on the theme of the tariff,” Lin said Wednesday. “This tariff war was initiated by the United States, and China has taken the necessary countermeasures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests and international justice and justice, which is completely reasonable and legal.”
